Would you like to write a piece for our Reportage section?

Wonderful.

Reportage, to us, documents life. Such documentation can be personal; in fact, that's most interesting. So, we are looking for work that documents life—yours, another's, society's—in a torrent of words that only your mind could sling together.

In terms of guidelines, we don't really have any. Yes, we would like your piece to relate in some way to the arts and culture (which we view as a broad category) and yes, we would like your piece to be intelligently written. The rest, however, is up to you. Timeliness and newsworthiness are not a concern. Humor is often good, but discretion is even better. Diversity (race, culture, gender, sexual orientation, and the like) of subject matter is what truly interests us. While we intend what we publish to be edifying, we also intend it to be read.

And previously published work is fine—send it along, unless, of course, the original publisher takes issue.

To submit your piece, email us (share [at] thediverseartsproject [dot] com) with your name/ bio and your completed piece pasted (not attached) in the email.
